Today is the 10th day of the Hebrew
month of Av. Yesterday was Tish’ah B’av – the 9th of Av – the
saddest day in the Jewish Calendar. For many
Jews, Tisha B’av is a day of fasting and mourning. It is the day upon which both the first and
second Temples in Jerusalem were destroyed.
